The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) is a multiple-choice test that helps identify the best Air Force jobs (AFSCs) for you. It consists of ten short tests completed in about three hours, covering various subjects from general science to mechanical comprehension.
A vital part of the process, the physical examination ensures your ability to handle the challenges of basic training and military service. It includes measurements, hearing and vision tests, blood and urine tests, and muscle and joint mobility checks. Any disqualifications discovered during the exam may affect your entry into the military.
Before heading to the Military Entrance Processing Station, medical technicians will provide instructions on completing a questionnaire about your medical history. Discuss any relevant childhood diseases or medical issues with your recruiter beforehand to be ready for your MEPS visit.
Must watch before MEPS. This video is targeted toward active duty applicants. Note: Air Guard does not job counsel or enlist during the MEPS visit. Your recruiter handles your job selection separately.
Save or screenshot this checklist before your MEPS visit.
If you qualify, your recruiter coordinates your MEPS visit. Begin with the prequalification questionnaire.
